I feel obligated to say I was a disappointed last time I saw the X-ecutioners and Pharcyde (at different shows). It was back in '97 when they had to drop the X-Men name and came out with their first album X-pressions. I saw them live with Common and they used turntables as true musical instruments. At the Scratch Tour last year, however, it seemed like they lost their focus as they performed some tired old routines. The Pharcyde show was little better, as the only survivors are Bootie Brown and the other guy. They show their age by being out of breath but they will always get nostalgia points from me.
This could actually turn out to be an interesting show. Or not. I don't know.
FREE, 21+, 9pm - 2am
Something different for those that long for the days of writing PEEKs and POKEs on a VIC-20.
Over at Urban Empire I found this pointer to a comprehensive concert schedule for San Diego shows. Hmm...clean layout...looks like its kept constantly up-to-date...I give up. I guess all you'll be seeing on this blog now are puppy pictures.
Here's a great essay by an officer of the US Marine Corps Reserve based here in San Diego. A voice thats glaringly not being reflected in major media is that of the men and women defending us. That makes this essay worth reading whether or not you support the war.
Here's a mortgage calculator I whipped up in Excel that I thought other people might find handy. It assumes you are doing a 80-20 loan for purchasing a home where the first loan is a 30-year ARM and the second is a home equity line of credit (HELOC). Its primarily meant to help with loans that are nudging the Jumbo boundary ($333,700).
If you use the spreadsheet, you'll want to enter the latest rates and Countrywide has an easy-to-use rate sheet. Note: I don't work for them, though I have done three loans through them and I've always been happy with their customer service.
Bella's first camping trip! We had two huge campsites at Laguna/El Prado for Memorial Day weekend. A bit dusty but a great way to unwind after a crazy work week.

Is it just me or is Detroit Deli just a throwaway album? Like they threw together whatever they had lying around and mastered it, just to get out of their contract or something. All I'm saying is that I'm a bit disappointed.
I probably need to have some actual content up in here (up in here!) before I can make two gees off this weblog thing.

I stumbled on to a bittorrent for his new album Keep Right. Its tight. No sign of it for sale anywhere, so I'm making plans to see show. And he did publish a book last year.
